By train:
If you wish to travel by train, please purchase your tickets yourself. You can do this online at https://www.bahn.de/, amongst other places.
In most cases, various offers, such as saver fares and the Europa-Spezial, can also be selected. As a discounted saver fare is often only available for a single journey, it is advisable to book single tickets. Online tickets can be booked in advance until the next timetable change (for Deutsche Bahn).
Please check which booking option is the cheapest – particularly if you hold a BahnCard, are travelling a short distance, or a saver fare is available – and use it accordingly.
Before booking, please be sure to check any instructions from your relevant travel expenses department that may stipulate a specific booking method and/or the purchase of a specific ticket type.
From Trier Central Station, you can reach the Academy by bus (from the station, take lines 3, 12 or 40 to the Porta-Nigra stop. There, change to line 8 towards Mariahof and alight at the Peter-Wust-Str. stop; from there, it is a 2‑minute walk to the German Judges’ Academy) or by taxi.
Alternatively: Take line 2 towards Heiligkreuz from the main station to the Adolph-Kolping-Str. stop. From there, you can walk to Berliner Allee. It is then about 50 metres to the German Judges’ Academy.
Mon–Fri from 6.50 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, line 82 runs directly from the main station towards Mariahof; alight at the Adolph-Kolping-Straße stop. From there, you can walk to Berliner Allee. It is then approximately 50 metres to the German Judges’ Academy.
