European Judicial Training Network – EJTN
In light of the ever-increasing importance of European Union law, judicial training in this field is becoming increasingly significant. The institutions responsible for the training of judges and public prosecutors in the EU Member States – including, for Germany, the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) – therefore joined forces to form a Europe-wide network as early as 2000. The training programmes offered by the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) are open to participants from all Member States and thus make a key contribution to promoting the European competence of the judiciary.
The German Judges’ Academy cooperates with the EJTN in a variety of ways. Certain conferences organised by the German Judges’ Academy are open to participants referred by the EJTN. Some of these conferences are interpreted. In addition, the German Judges’ Academy also provides venues for seminars organised by the EJTN.
The German contact point within the EJTN is the Federal Office of Justice (BfJ).
