European Judicial Training Network – EJTN

In light of the ever-increasing importance of Euro­pean Uni­on law, judi­cial trai­ning in this field is beco­ming incre­asing­ly signi­fi­cant. The insti­tu­ti­ons respon­si­ble for the trai­ning of jud­ges and public pro­se­cu­tors in the EU Mem­ber Sta­tes – inclu­ding, for Ger­ma­ny, the Fede­ral Minis­try of Jus­ti­ce and Con­su­mer Pro­tec­tion (BMJV) – the­r­e­fo­re joi­n­ed forces to form a Europe-wide net­work as ear­ly as 2000. The trai­ning pro­gram­mes offe­red by the Euro­pean Judi­cial Trai­ning Net­work (EJTN) are open to par­ti­ci­pan­ts from all Mem­ber Sta­tes and thus make a key con­tri­bu­ti­on to pro­mo­ting the Euro­pean com­pe­tence of the judiciary.

The Ger­man Jud­ges’ Aca­de­my coope­ra­tes with the EJTN in a varie­ty of ways. Cer­tain con­fe­ren­ces orga­nis­ed by the Ger­man Jud­ges’ Aca­de­my are open to par­ti­ci­pan­ts refer­red by the EJTN. Some of the­se con­fe­ren­ces are inter­pre­ted. In addi­ti­on, the Ger­man Jud­ges’ Aca­de­my also pro­vi­des venues for semi­nars orga­nis­ed by the EJTN.
