The seminar addresses judges of all jurisdictions, public prosecutors and press officers in ministries who have contact with organs of the press in the course of official business.
Besides short introductory lectures and an exchange of experience, the main emphasis of the seminar shall be directed towards the performance of practical exercises.
The followings sequential course of topics is scheduled:

• Working methods of the media and expectations of the judicial community from the media
• Media science
• How to run a press office (organization; reactive and proactive approach)
• Communication in the situation of a crisis
• Legal questions a press spokesman has to deal with (statutes on the media in the 16 States; statutes on the freedom of information)
• Sense and nonsense of press conferences
• Attuning / adapting to the interview partner
• Interview techniques
• Ways of manipulating the interview partner
• Practical exercises
• Dealing with background information
• Formulation of press releases.
