This conference addresses judges and public prosecutors.
It aims to introduce and explain the law governing the recovery of criminal assets with a view to the legislator’s intention. In addition, the conference will focus on how the regulations are used in practice. In particular, the following subjects will be discussed:

• The “acquired something” pursuant to sections 73, 73c of the German Criminal Code (StGB)
• Asset recovery from third parties
• Possibilities of asset recovery
• Preliminary seizure and special procedural regulations
• Judicial confiscation proceedings
• Asset recovery and insolvency proceedings
• The victim compensation model

Furthermore, this conference provides a platform for exchange of experience and professional discourse as well as room for a discussion on practical issues related to asset recovery in criminal law.
