date: 07.02.2023 - 10.02.2023

The conference addresses judges in the ordinary judiciary who work at a local court or provincial court.
The conference’s goal is to teach the law that is important for the judicial emergency service under particular consideration of recent court decisions and to provide specific advice for the practical organization of a proceeding. In addition to the legal aspects, the conference places another emphasis on clarifying the tasks of other participants in the proceeding and aims at providing the basic knowledge necessary to properly evaluate medicinal expert statements. The interdisciplinary presentation of individual topics shall enable the participants to make professional decisions in areas of the law that are not part of their daily practice, all within a professional environment that is characterized by serious interferences with basic rights and a high degree of urgency.
The following topics shall be emphasized:
  • Deportation detention
  • Detention according to the law of tutelage and the state laws on the detention of the mentally ill
  • The practice of the investigative judge and the detention judge
  • Family law judgments
  • Special cases (detention according to state administrative laws).
A further topic will be the organizational and temporal management of the emergency service in individual states against the background of recent decisions by the Federal Constitutional Court.
