Guardianship law (for people starting in the department or who have changed departments)

The conference is aimed at judges who have newly taken over or will soon be taking over the field of matters concerning guardianship and involuntary commitment.
It is intended that the following issues, in particular, will be dealt with:

• Principles and objectives of guardianship law, also in light of the UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
• Fundamental aspects of involuntary commitment law in form and in fact
• Mental illnesses/intellectual disabilities and the assessment thereof as well as communication with persons with illnesses and disabilities
• Selected problems (e. g. compulsory treatment, advance health care directives)
• Social reporting, social welfare benefits and social network
• Practice-related problems in the work carried out by the department.
