European Law in Civil Courts’ Practice

The conference addresses judges of civil justice and aims at creating an increased awareness of European law issues, especially with regard to current issues.
After an overview of European law, the following topics are expected to be discussed:

• Effects of European Community law on German private law
• The preliminary ruling procedure
• European
• regulation on the service of documents
• regulation regarding the taking of evidence
• enforcement order
• account preservation order procedure to facilitate cross-border debt recovery
• European
• order for payment procedure
• small claims procedure
• civil procedure law and the conflict of laws

An overview of current jurisprudence in the Unions courts will be offered in the framework of a visit to the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
