This seminar is designed for judges who deal with press law and freedom of speech.
In view of recent decisions in cases before the Federal Constitutional Court, the Federal High Court and the European Court of Human Rights the seminar will provide information and, in particular, give participants the opportunity for an exchange of experience. The seminar will cover significant aspects of protection under civil law with regard to print and photojournalism – such as the right of reply, injunctive relief, corrections and retractions, claims for damages – and related issues of procedural law. Special attention will be paid to issues of current importance and the legal discussion of these.
